Steps to Complete Your MHA Application

Once the form has been submitted, follow the remaining steps to complete your admissions file Heading link

  1. Submit UIC’s Graduate Application Online.
    • Once on the page, you can either search for the program or select the Master’s Programs link under the program search bar. Select, or search for, Healthcare Administration (Professional) – Online – MHA from the list of available programs, along with your chosen concentration. After you have selected Healthcare Administration (Professional) – Online – MHA, click on Apply and create a log in.
  2. Upload an official copy of your academic transcript(s) indicating the earned degree(s)
  3. Submit a personal statement:
    • Address the following questions within a personal statement. These questions may be answered individually or together in a paragraph format that does not exceed the combination of word limits (maximum total of 750 words):
      1. What strengths and attributes will you bring to the program? (250 word maximum)
      2. What specific professional experiences have led you to determine that enrolling in an MHA program is the best next step for you, and how will this degree support your professional goals? (250 word maximum)
      3. Optional question: Is there anything not addressed elsewhere in the application that you would like the Admissions Committee to know about you to evaluate your candidacy? (250 word maximum)
  4. Obtain two letters of recommendation, preferably from those who know you in a professional or academic setting (the reviewer will be asked to fill out a survey with the option of including a letter)
  5. Upload your CV/Resume
  6. Valid English proficiency test scores must be submitted, if required, based on the country or territory in which an applicant previously studied. Refer to the requirements set by UIC’s Office of Admissions.
    • Minimum English Competency Test Score
      • TOEFL iBT 80, with subscores of Reading 19, Listening 17, Speaking 20, and Writing 21, OR.
      • IELTS Academic 6.5, with 6.0 in each of the four subscores, OR.
      • PTE-Academic 54, with subscores of Reading 51, Listening 47, Speaking 53, and Writing 56.

For International Applications Only

  • An international credential evaluation fee of $100 is assessed to any applicant presenting coursework taken outside the United States. The evaluation fee must be paid after submission of the application. Please refer to the foreign credential guidelines on the International Admission Requirements webpage.
